Course Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

  1. Participants will be able to identify ways to use CPS for clinical consultations
  2. Participants will learn to understand how clinicians and CPS can collaborate to make treatment plans
  3. Participants will understand the conflicts that both clinicians and child welfare workers face with regard to interpreting reporting laws
  4. Participants will understand how policy and history affect CPS decisions about their interventions
  5. Clinicians will understand some of the pressures and demands that a child welfare worker faces in making decisions regarding crisis interventions with a family
