Time: 06:30pm - 08:00pm
Instructor: Karen Johnson, M.D.
Location: Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences Building, Room 3200 (third floor)

Course Description:
Over the years, the concept of transference has been interpreted and reinterpreted by psychoanalysts of different theoretical points of view. This class will include a brief overview of these various definitions of the term and will translate the ideas behind the definition into ways to help our patients understand themselves and their ways of interacting better. Class participants are encouraged to bring situations from their own work that we can use to explore how analysts form hypotheses about the unconscious processes of their patients and formulate them into interpretations.

Instructor:
Karen Johnson, M.D.
, Training and Supervising Analyst, SFCP; Private Practice, Palo Alto.
