Introduction to the work of Daniel Quinodoz and Jean-Michel Quinodoz
SFCP is fortunate to host two prolific and creative leading European analysts, Danielle Quinodoz and Jean-Michel Quinodoz, who will be the visiting professors during the week of November 12, 2007. In order to appreciate the breadth and depth of the Quinodoz’ contributions to contemporary psychoanalysis, SFCP Extension Division is organizing two introductory community events to explore and discuss their works.

Introduction to the work of Jean-Michel Quinodoz
Jean-Michel Quinodoz from Geneva is a Training and Supervising Analyst at the Swiss Psychoanalytical Society. He is the author of numerous articles and books among them: “The Taming of Solitude,” “Dreams that Turn Over a Page,” “Reading Freud,” and his forth coming book: “Listening to Hanna Segal: Her Contributions to Psychoanalysis.” Quinodoz clinical and theoretical work provides a rich and experience near synthesis of Freud, Klein, Winnicott, and Bion. He is the past European Editor of the International Journal of Psychoanalysis (1993-2003).

Introduction to the work of Danielle Quinodoz
Danielle Quinodoz is a Training Analyst of the Swiss Psychoanalytic Society. She has published more than 40 articles and is the author of two books, “Emotional Vertigo, between Anxiety and Pleasure” (Routledge, 1997) and “Words that Touch” (Karnac Books, 2003). Danielle Quinodoz received the Sacerdoti Prize in 1989 and she was awarded the "Prix Psychologie 1995" in Paris for her first book.

A DAY… WITH ADRIENNE HARRIS, Ph.D.
The Flexible Body and the Transgendered Self
Dr. Harris will present a theoretical paper in the morning, with a discussion by Susan Stryker, Ph.D. The afternoon program begins with a clinical case presentation of an adolescent male to female transgendered patient by Michael Feldman, M.D, followed by a discussion from Dr. Harris, and with the audience.
Adrienne Harris, Ph.D. is Clinical Associate Professor at the New York University Postdoctoral Program in Psychotherapy and Psychoanalysis, and is a Visiting Scholar at the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California. She is an Associate Editor of Psychoanalytic Dialogues, and a Consulting Editor for Studies in Gender and Sexuality.
She has co-edited with Lewis Aron, The Legacy of Sandor Ferenczi, and Storms in Her Head: Freud and the Construction of Hysteria with Muriel Dimen. Her book on developmental theory and chaos theory, Gender as a Soft Assembly, was published in 2005.
Discussant: Susan Stryker, Ph.D., Emmy Award-Winning Documentary Filmmaker; Woodward Visiting Endowed Chair in Women's Studies, Simon Fraser University, Vancouver & Lecturer,U.C. Berkeley, Dept. of Gender and Women’s Studies.
Case Presentation: Michael Feldman, M.D., Member and Faculty, Columbia University Psychoanalytic Training and Research Center. Dr. Feldman will present a 22-year-old trans lesbian who began treatment at age 16.
