Eating Disorders Resource Center

The EDRC is designed to provide education for patients, parents, teachers and physicians who are seeking information about eating disorders and/or intensive treatment. Psychoanalytic speakers are provided to organizations and groups without a charge. Consultation for mental health professionals is also provided although there is a charge for consultations.

Poetry and Psychoanalysis

Psychoanalytic poets interview other published poets about creativity, their writing as it is related to unconscious processes as well as their experiences when they are engaged in the writing process. These programs are free to the general public.


Psychoanalytic Grand Rounds at Stanford University Medical Center

These lectures occur monthly from 6:15-7:30pm and are on a wide variety of mental health subjects. Movies, books and clinical examples are utilized to illustrate the clinical topic. They are free to any mental health trainee or professional.

Psychoanalytic Seminars for Scholars
Chair: Claire Kahane, Ph.D.

These seminars in psychoanalytic studies are offered free of charge to non-clinical graduate students in the university community who have an interest in the clinical understanding of psychoanalytic concepts in their academic work. The juxtaposition of scholarly and clinical perspectives provides an enriching cross-fertilization of our fields of study and a forum in which to bring abstract theoretical ideas to everyday life. Public Lecture Series

The Outreach/Liaison Committee of the SFCP will be presenting a series of free lectures for the general public. The speakers are all practicing psychoanalysts. Using analytic thinking, speakers will discuss topics of everyday interest.


Residency Therapy

This program connects analysts in the various geographical areas with psychiatric residents who want a lower cost treatment as part of their training.

SFCP provides without charge liaisons to other large mental health programs. Most of these programs have a training aspect and the liaisons co-ordinate other analysts and/or analytic oriented clinicians that teach, supervise and provide consultation to the organization that is listed.
