Conversation with the Author
You are cordially invited to join The San Francisco Psychoanalytic Institute and Society in bringing psychoanalytic thinkers to the general public.
Join us to hear Christopher Bollas who will be giving a reading and hopefully entering into a discussion about his work on January 26, 2007, at 7:30pm at Black Oak Books, 1491 Shattuck Avenue in Berkeley.
Dr. Bollas has been an extraordinary voice in contemporary psychoanalysis and has had a great influence on literary critics as well.
In addition to his distinguished career as a psychoanalytic thinker and practitioner, for the last several years he has been writing and publishing novellas, a kind of humorous fiction of ideas that elaborate through the character of an analyst some of the most problematic psychological issues in contemporary life.
He also had a workshop production at the Berkeley Rep of one of his plays last January. See the 2007 January Black Oaks calendar for the specifics.
