Dr. Michael Feldman is a Training and Supervising Analyst of the British Psycho-Analytical Society. He trained in psychiatry at the Maudsley Hospital in London and was Chairman of the Psychotherapy Unit there. Since 1998 he has been in full-time private practice as a psychoanalyst.

In addition to his clinical work and teaching in London, he regularly works with analysts in several European countries and the U.S.A. He has published many clinical and theoretical papers and book chapters. He co-authored 'The Oedipus Complex Today' (1989) with Ron Britton, and Edna O'Shaughnessy, and co-edited, with Elizabeth Spillius 'Psychic Equilibrium and Psychic Change: Selected Papers of Betty Joseph' (1989). A selection of his own papers, edited by Betty Joseph, with a preface by Roy Schafer, has recently been published under the title Doubt, Conviction and the Analytic Process (Routledge, 2009).
