Course Objectives:

Participants will be able to:

    1. Describe the clinical implications of the patient's use of the analyst as a transference object.
    2. Describe the analyst's countertransference in relation to being used as a fantasied transference object.
    3. Describe the way in which relational psychoanalyts' formulations of the transference-countertransference interaction may differ from a Kleinian theoretical formulation.
